I live in a small town. We have an equally small radio station in the area. It's the kind of station
that loses power after sundown.

At this station there's a "traffic girl". I put that in quotes because she's an 18 year old right out
of high school with no experience whatsoever - although I don't know what experience you
would need to be a traffic reporter anyway.

All she's required to so it read a sheet of paper that already has the traffic report written on it -
"Traffic is heavy on Route 46 west. I suggest you take Route 80 instead" and so on.

One day I was listening to the station and heard that this traffic girl was making an "appearance"
at a local market. An appearance!!! Who the heck is she???

But I knew the power of "The Halo Effect". ….more
